Terms of Use
The contract governing your access to and use of PyInvesting.
1. Agreement and operator
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the operator of PyInvesting, the online service available through pyinvesting.com (“PyInvesting”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). They govern PyInvesting accounts, research tools, simulations, screeners, community features, communications, paid features, and related content (collectively, the “Service”).
By checking the acceptance box, creating an account, accepting a later version, or starting a paid subscription, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and acknowledge the Investment Risk Disclaimer and Privacy Policy. The current document versions are terms-2026-08-27-v1, risk-2026-08-27-v1, and privacy-2026-08-27-v1. If you do not accept, do not use an authenticated account or purchase a subscription.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering this agreement. If you use the Service for a company or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind them, and “you” includes that person. You are responsible for determining whether the Service and these Terms are lawful where you access them.
3. Service boundary—no personalized advice
The Service provides general research, educational content, market information, and software for self-directed analysis. It does not take account of your complete objectives, financial situation, tax position, risk tolerance, or needs. Nothing in the Service is personalized financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice, or an offer, solicitation, recommendation, endorsement, or guarantee concerning a financial product or strategy.
We do not act as your financial adviser, broker, dealer, fiduciary, portfolio manager, custodian, exchange, tax adviser, or legal adviser. You control every input and decision and remain solely responsible for due diligence, suitability, orders, position sizing, monitoring, and results. You must independently verify every material output before using it or making a decision. The Investment Risk Disclaimer is incorporated into these Terms.
4. Your account and security
You must provide accurate information, keep it current, protect account credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You may not share, sell, transfer, automate access to, or impersonate another account. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent caused by your act, omission, or failure to use reasonable security.
We may require identity, email, security, or payment verification and may refuse or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or legal compliance.
5. Permitted and prohibited use
We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for lawful self-directed research, subject to these Terms. You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully, deceptively, abusively, or to infringe another person’s rights;
- circumvent access, payment, usage, security, or technical restrictions;
- scrape, harvest, bulk-download, resell, sublicense, mirror, or commercially redistribute the Service or Content except with our written permission;
- reverse engineer, probe, disrupt, overload, introduce malicious code, or interfere with the Service or another user;
- present Content as personalized advice, a guaranteed result, or our endorsement; or
- use automated systems at a rate or in a manner that could impair the Service or third-party licences.
6. Intellectual property and user content
The Service, its software, design, compilation, trademarks, original text, and other proprietary Content are owned by or licensed to PyInvesting and protected by applicable law. Except for the limited right above, no rights are transferred to you.
You retain ownership of content you lawfully submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, display, and process that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit it. Do not submit confidential, unlawful, infringing, misleading, or personally sensitive material to public areas.
7. Third-party data, services, and links
The Service may use or link to market-data providers, payment providers, identity providers, websites, libraries, and other third parties. Their content, availability, licences, privacy practices, and terms are outside our control. A link, symbol, data item, or integration does not imply endorsement.
Third-party data can be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, adjusted, or withdrawn. You must comply with applicable third-party terms and independently verify information that matters to a decision.
8. Subscriptions, billing, cancellation, and taxes
Prices, billing period, trial terms, renewal terms, and included features are shown at checkout. By confirming checkout, you authorize the disclosed charge and recurring renewal until cancellation. Payment processing is handled by the identified payment provider under its terms. You are responsible for applicable taxes, currency conversion, and provider charges.
You may cancel future renewal through the available account or payment-provider controls. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not ordinarily refund a period already started, except where the checkout terms state otherwise or applicable law requires a refund. We may change prices or paid features prospectively with reasonable notice; a change does not alter charges already paid for the current period.
9. Service and Terms changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, data, limits, or Content. We do not guarantee that any feature, strategy, security, data source, or result will remain available. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of a material adverse change to a paid Service.
We may update these Terms, the Disclaimer, or the Privacy Policy. If a change materially affects legal meaning, we will publish a new version and require affirmative reacceptance before further authenticated use. Presentation, spelling, formatting, or link corrections that do not change meaning may be made without reacceptance.
10. Service provided “as is”
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and Content are provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all express, implied, and statutory warranties, representations, conditions, and terms, including as to accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, security, error-free operation, and investment performance.
The Service may contain software bugs, code defects, calculation errors, data-processing mistakes, display errors, broken assumptions, or other defects. An output may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or incorrect even if it appears precise or plausible, and an error may not be detected or corrected.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements; that any error, interruption, data issue, or security event will be corrected; or that any backtest, signal, screen, strategy, estimate, or other output will be profitable, repeatable, suitable, or available in real trading.
11. Excluded losses
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of PyInvesting and its personnel, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, anticipated savings, goodwill, business, data, or use.
To the same extent, we are not liable for investment or trading losses; decisions made or not made using the Service; software bugs, code defects, calculation errors, data-processing mistakes; inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or incorrect outputs; reliance on an inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or incorrect output; inaccurate, delayed, missing, revised, or unavailable data; model or assumption limitations; market movement; order execution; third-party acts or services; unauthorized access caused by your security failure; or interruption, modification, suspension, or termination of the Service, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, restitution, or otherwise and even if the possibility of loss was known.
12. Liability cap and contractual remedy
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the fees you paid for the relevant Service during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid no fees for the relevant Service, our aggregate liability will not exceed SGD 50.
If you are dissatisfied with the Service, your sole contractual remedy is to stop using it and, if applicable, cancel future renewal. This sentence does not remove any remedy or right that applicable law does not allow the parties to exclude or limit.
13. Your responsibility for third-party claims
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify PyInvesting against reasonable losses, liabilities, and costs arising from a third-party claim caused by your unlawful use of the Service, your material breach of section 5, or content you submit that infringes that third party’s rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by our breach, negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct. We will give reasonable notice and allow you to participate in the defence; you may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault or imposes an obligation on us without our written consent.
14. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded
This agreement does not exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability, statutory consumer right, guarantee, condition, remedy, or obligation that applicable law does not permit us to exclude, restrict, or modify.
Every disclaimer, exclusion, indemnity, remedy restriction, and liability cap in these Terms applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law. If a mandatory right applies, these Terms limit our responsibility only to the extent that limitation is lawful and reasonable.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account closure, subject to outstanding charges and lawful retention. We may suspend or terminate access where you materially breach these Terms, create legal or security risk, fail to pay, abuse the Service, or where operation is no longer lawful or reasonably practicable. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure.
Terms that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment obligations, warranty exclusions, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms, and lawful record retention—continue after termination.
16. Governing law and courts
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere, you and PyInvesting submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
17. General terms
These Terms, the Investment Risk Disclaimer, the Privacy Policy, and checkout terms form the entire agreement concerning the Service and replace earlier understandings on the same subject. If there is a conflict, specific checkout terms control billing for that purchase, these Terms control use of the Service, and mandatory law controls over both.
If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue. A delay in enforcement is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, restructuring, asset transfer, or transfer of the Service, provided your mandatory rights are not reduced. No person other than you and PyInvesting has a right to enforce these Terms.
Notices to you may be delivered through the Service or to your registered email. Questions or legal notices to PyInvesting should be sent through our contact page with enough detail for us to respond.
